Player Constructions
Player constructions are buildings and areas which are paid for and constructed by players.
There are two types of player constructions. The cheapest and most common are buildings or areas in cities, which are written and created by the players themselves.
To create one of these constructions, you must initially gain permission from the Emperor of the city you wish to build in (These constructions may only be created inside city walls) and if the Emperor demands it, get permission for the specific location you wish to build in.
Once permission is granted, you should draw up a plan for the layout of the new construction. You do not need to write descriptions at this point, but you do need short names for each room in the construction. You should create a visual map of the layout as well.
Once the map and plan are complete, you should contact Gralnak during administration hour, to process your purchase of rooms. At this stage Gralnak will need to see the map you have created, as well as talk through the plan with you. Once Gralnak approves the plan, you will have to pay for the construction, and begin using ERA or ERB from the Elysium Website (ERA is recommended as being more user friendly), using room and region numbers given to you during the administration hour. Once you have finished creating the rooms, you should contact Gralnak for an email address to send them to. Once Gralnak has them, it should take between one and three weeks for the rooms to be implimented into the game.
There are a few rules about layout; Firstly, you must have at least three rooms in your proposed construction. Secondly, long strings of rooms with only two exits are not allowed, and you should include as many rooms with three or more exits as possible. Thirdly, any 'street land' rooms must be linked to the street network of the city you are building in.
The costs of this type of construction are as follows;
10,000 coins per 'building land' or 'street land' rooms. 30,000 coins per special terrain room (non-street outside rooms, caverns, water rooms etc).
Your proposal may also be rejected on the basis of not matching theme or just being badly planned. It could also be rejected if it is too large in comparison to other buildings - As a general rule, a 'normal' house should not be more than 5-8 rooms, and an exceptionally large mansion would be unlikely to be more than 20-30 rooms big.
The second, and most expensive type of construction, is out of city constructions. These are partly designed by players, but written mainly by Gralnak. You may only buy this kind of construction if you are at least 25 Elysium years old.
To create one of these constructions, you must initially gain permission from the Emperor of the city who controls the land you wish to build from.
Once permission is granted, you should start to design the overall look of the planned area and decide what you want to be included in the area. The theme of the area must match both the place it is being built, and the theme of your character. For example, if you are a night weaver building in the mountains of Thul'Mar, a forboding mansion or trap riddled cavern system might be appropriate, but a roadside inn or a system of ice tunnels wouldn't be so suitable.
You should ensure that the plan is modest enough that you can afford any additional costs added during the approval stage. A visual map might help, but is not essential. Remember, for this type of construction you do not determine the actual layout.
Once you're ready, you should contact Gralnak during administration hour. Gralnak will listen to which elements you want to include, and come up with a layout. He will then advise you how much the proposal will cost. Because this is determined at the time of approval it is important you have some leeway in your plans to pay for things you did not originally consider.
After you've paid, Gralnak will design and impliment the new area. There is no time limitation on this, and so it may be a number of weeks before it is implimented. If you are unwilling to wait an undeterminate length of time you should not buy one of these areas.
There is no size limitation on these constructions, though Gralnak may reject a proposal if it is felt you are deliberately being 'mean' with your money by building something purposefully small for reasons other than theme.
The cost of this type of construction is as follows;
Basic Costs:

- 20,000 coins for a themed lighting object in a room.
- 20,000 coins for a 'breachable door' which you can open without breaching.
- 100,000 coins for an 'access list' to allow others to activate things in the construction with you can activate.

- 10,000 coins for a themed npc guard (approx small arena snake level).
- 20,000 coins for a themed npc guard (approx large arena snake level).
- 30,000 coins for a themed npc guard (approx arena dog level).
- 50,000 coins for a themed npc guard (approx arena war dog level).
- 60,000 coins for a themed npc guard (approx burly elven wrestler level).
- 80,000 coins for a themed npc guard (approx burly human wrestler level).
- 100,000 coins for a themed npc guard (approx burly orc wrestler level).
- 120,000 coins for a themed npc guard (approx burly spawn wrestler level).
- 135,000 coins for a themed npc guard (approx burly cyclops wrestler level).
- 270,000 coins for a themed npc guard (approx twice as strong).
Additions:
- 20,000 coins to add a magic attack (approx scrawny goblin shaman level).
- 30,000 coins to add a magic attack (approx fat human mage level).
- 50,000 coins to add a magic attack (approx thin specter mage level).
- 75,000 coins to add a magic attack (approx young wizardine level).
- 100,000 coins to add a magic attack (approx Dialis demon level).
- 125,000 coins to add a magic attack (approx Karilus demon level).
- 200,000 coins to add a magic attack (approx Urgida demon level).
Modifiers:
- x2 of base cost to be ethereal.
- -Not including magic attack.
- x2 to make npc a 'blocking' npc.
- -which cannot be passed unless on an access list.
- x10 to make npc an 'orderable' npc, which you can order into an entourage.
Both types of construction can be added onto at a later date.
You should note that purchasing an area doesn't give you 'ownership' of that area, and it is up to you to maintain control of it once it is in the game. However, other players cannot buy extensions to an out of city construction originally bought by you.
You should also be aware that out of city constructions may be used in future additions to the game, for example quests might require players to kill or greet one of your guard npcs, or perform specific actions inside the construction.
