The skill of Magica is a method of manipulating raw mana in a very crude manner. Being less refined than other magical skills, Magica abilities tend to be fairly weak, or require a large investment of mana for their effects.
Though the earliest of mages in Elysium may have learned Magica as a skill in its own rights, nowadays it is usually taught through temporary mentalist techniques, allowing young adventurers who might be interested in becoming a mage to taste some of the raw power of magic without having to expend their hard earned lessons.
Magica learned in this manner will fade away from the student after a while, but may inspire them to study one of the more highly refined magical arts.
