A Mint is an industry which can be used to convert gold ingots into coins to fuel a cities economy, or line its owner's pockets.
The following research has been carried out into upgrade costs for this industry;
Lv.1: holds 30 gold ingots
1st upgrade 18 granite, 1 plank, 2 slate, 10 iron ingots
