Place of Shadows

The Place of Shadows is a sub dimension created by the Goddess Delvanea before her departure from the realm.

It is a confusing place with overlapping areas which are difficult to navigate by those who are unfamiliar with the dimension. There are also numerous barriers preventing progression through the area without adequate preparation.

Most of the Angels of Delvanea fled into the Place of Shadows when she departed, and the dimension is also populated by their servants and other creatures of Delvanea which were left behind.

In the aftermath of Delvanea leaving Elysium corruption started to spread through the Place of Shadows, perhaps its natural state re-asserting itself as Delvanea's divine magics faded away or were drawn off by Silathis, the inheritor of much of her power.

A cult of Shadow Monks started efforts to reverse and repair this corruption, and recruit adventurers to assist in these efforts at their monastery on Orien.
